In other words, be balanced in life under all circumstances joy or sorrow, success or failure, honour or dishonour, prosperity or adversity. This calmness of the mind expresses itself in a smile.
The Chinmaya Vidyalaya has as its emblem, the lamp and the `Hamsa' bird. In the light of the Scriptures (represented by the lamp) the discriminative power of the human intellect is to be developed (represented by the Hamsa bird). Vedic tradition describes Hamsa as a bird that can drink milk alone from a solution of milk and water.
